The 5 Non-Alcoholic Cocktails You Must Try for Dry January

Participating in Dry January? We’ve partnered up with Binary Botanical to give you the top mocktails to try for the occasion.

Daiquiri Twist

METHOD

Put the ice and Nonsuch into a highball glass. Top up with Binary 0.5 and stir gently. Add a squeeze of fresh lime or orange to taste. Rub the rim of the glass with the orange peel for extra flavour.

Garnish with a slice of fresh orange.

Apperol Spritz Twist

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

Pre-chill the glass in the freezer.  Add the Æcorn and binary 0.5 with ice into a mixing glass and stir the vigorously.  Twist and release the lemon zest oils into the mixing glass.  Strain and serve in a martini glass. Garnish with lemon zest.

Bloody Mary Twist

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

Start by salting the rim of your glass. Mix all the ingredients together and throw. Strain over ice in a wine glass and slowly top with binary to layer. Garnish with dehydrated lemon and roasted rosemary.

Rossini Twist

This festive season we love a Rossini alternative.  Choose any combination of your favourite berries.  If its a little tart add some elderflower cordial or a little sugar to taste.

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

Crush the strawberries using a pestle and mortar or using a muddler directly in the glass.  Add a small amount of binary into the glass to make the muddling process a little easier.   Add the juice of 1/2 lemon into the glass and mix.   Add ice and top up with binary.  Add elderflower cordial to taste and enjoy.

Ginger Julep Twist

Okay, so this one takes a bit more preparation, but still totally worth it!

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

Add fresh mint leaves, lime, ginger, and cordial into your glass. Stir to combine and add ice. Top up with binary. Garnish with fresh mint leave

GINGER NECTAR

Homemade ginger nectar is versatile and so easy to make. This is also perfect if you are looking for a no sugar cordial to enjoy with your cocktails.

INGREDIENTS

  • 10cm ginger
  • Lemon (optional)
  • 1-2 cups water
  • Sugar (optional)

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 220 degC. Roughly chop ginger into pieces with the skin on and roast for about 40–45 minutes, turning occasionally. Add ginger, lemon and water into saucepan and boil for 10 minutes. Add sugar to taste and strain into a container.
